My name is Ernest Powell, owner of Home Guard Inspections LLC, proudly serving the Quad Cities area, including Bettendorf, Davenport, LeClaire, Moline, Rock Island, Eldridge, and surrounding communities.

I bring more than 25 years of industry experience to every inspection. My background includes serving in the United States Air Force as a jet mechanic, where attention to detail, safety, and precision were required every day. Inspecting jets on the flight line and in the hangar taught me the importance of discipline, accuracy, and responsibility. I bring that same mindset to every home inspection.

I also hold a four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Computer Science from Florida Atlantic University, giving me a strong foundation in technical systems, communication, and business professionalism.

For 15 years, I owned and operated Vacuum Dig LLC, where I oversaw demanding excavation, utility, and construction-related projects. That experience gave me a deep understanding of jobsite safety, underground systems, construction practices, and the importance of doing the job correctly the first time.

As a home inspector, I take pride in providing detailed, easy-to-understand inspections that help clients make informed decisions. I am also the author of a book about my industry, written to help others understand the work, risks, and responsibility that come with the trades.
